We are nearing the end of our year-long blog adventure! It has been fun keeping our family, friends, and other families updated. We will continue to blog for one more month, then that will be the end. It is difficult to keep up with kids, work, the house, and our busy schedules.
Our journey was a long one, but our daughter was well worth the wait. The moment she joined our family, time starting moving at a much faster pace! I recently looked back at our referral pictures as our one year anniversary (for our referral) nears. My baby has grown up so quickly! I know there are so many families out there who are waiting for their babies. I am praying for you and hoping you will see your babies' faces soon. I know it is very difficult waiting and I think of you often and all of the babies who are waiting for their forever families. The moment your baby is placed in your arms, your life will be changed forever. The love for a child is like no other. We feel very fortunate to be blessed with our wonderful children.
Annie is an amazing child. Her dad and I (and her brothers) love her so much! She has brightened each day of our lives with her sweet personality and she is so adorable. She has changed from a baby into a toddler before our eyes and we marvel at what she can do and all that she has learned.
She is 21 months old and weighs 24 pounds. She is starting to wear size 18 months clothing, expect for her pants, which are still 12 months size. She is up to a size 6 shoe. She has 12 teeth.
She is a running and climbing pro and tries very hard to keep up with her big brothers. She is their little shadow and does everything they do. She LOVES music and dancing. She is just starting to notice television and mostly loves the music from show beginnings and commercials. She knows who Elmo and Dora are. She loves to read books and is starting to play with toys more often (she used to prefer every day items over toys). Her favorite song is the ABC song. She loves to have us count things. She has learned how to identify and say several colors (red, blue, and yellow) and is starting to identify many objects on her own.
She understands everything we say, but is just starting to say things on her own. She will say words if you ask her to say them. She can communicate with words and sign language. We are waiting to hear back about early intervention services for speech through our county. Our doctor is not concerned, but we thought we would give her a little extra help with language.
She loves her two dogs. She loves to make people laugh and entertain her brothers. She has a wonderful smile and laugh that spreads through the room when you hear it. She is always on the go, unless she is asleep. She needs to be involved in everything. Did I mention that we LOVE her to pieces??!!!! I could go on and on about the wonders of Annie, but I must get off of this computer. Thanks for following along and sharing in our joy!
